We hope all are doing well, staying safe and loving Jesus (of course).

How did that challenge go last week?
Do you remember?
We asked you to SHOW the LOVE of God to someone.

Let's try it again this week.

As we prepare to worship online,
let's open our hearts,
our eyes and our minds to what God wants to share with us this week in worship songs and His word,

let's think about HOW we can tangibly share God's love...
especially with those OUTSIDE of His church now.

Let them know that God's church and God Himself cares and loves them!

In the comments below this page, how about SHARING how YOU will show God's love THIS week!
Thanks!

We are sure your words WILL inspire others.
Let's be the BEST church we can be!

Until next time, Love in Christ

Pastors Harvey & Denise

P.S. - SHOW the Love of God to someone THIS week.

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Children's Sunday School by Mrs. Denise
Paul Meets Jesus

All right!
Time for the kiddos and kiddos at heart to hear about the Good News and pray and sing to God!

There is a NEW song this week!  Here are the lyrics, parents...

Take it away Mrs. Denise...

In a Very Big Way

Nah nah nah nah nah,
hidey hidey hey,
God loves you in a very big way.

Nah nah nah nah nah,
hidey hidey hey,
God loves you in a very big way.

When you’re afraid,
God loves you, hidey hey!
When you’re sad,
in a very big way,

When you need help,
hidey hidey hey,
He’ll help you in a very big way.

Nah nah nah nah nah,
hidey hidey hey,
God loves you in a very big way.

Nah nah nah nah nah,
hidey hidey hey,
God loves you in a very big way.
God loves you in a very big way.

Another week indoors, BUT God STILL is in charge.
Even though you are "watching" church,
but remember that The Church is NOT a spectator sport.

As you worship (with those in your "social circle") remember...

God loves YOU!
Jesus died for YOU!
Pastors Harvey and Denise are praying for YOU during this time...

This week's message we continue  with the Sermon Series, Tough Questions: Christian Answers.

Please comment below, let's fill them up with words of encouragement to anyone who happens to "stumble" upon this post.

And Now It's Time to Worship Christ

Who Am I  - Casting Crowns

Our first song reminds us who we are in Christ.  And who Christ is to us.

Crowder reminds us where all of our hope should be residing.

All My Hope Is in Jesus - Crowder

A Mighty Fortress - Martin Luther

(see below the video for the lyrics to sing along with)

Sing along with David Wesley and his virtual choir.

A Mighty Fortress

A mighty Fortress is our God, A Bulwark never failing;
Our Helper He amid the flood Of mortal ills prevailing:
For still our ancient foe Doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great, And, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.
2
Did we in our own strength confide, Our striving would be losing;
Were not the right Man on our side, The Man of God’s own choosing:
Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He;
Lord Sabaoth His Name, From age to age the same,
And He must win the battle.
3
That word above all earthly powers, No thanks to them, abideth;
The Spirit and the gifts are ours  Through Him who with us sideth:
Let goods and kindred go, This mortal life also;
The body they may kill: God’s truth abideth still,
His Kingdom is forever.

Why Would God Allow Good People to Suffer?

J. Warner Wallace's Book - God's Crime Scene

This is one of Pastor Harvey's favorite books!
And he keeps it on his Kindle to refer to it often.
It examines the case for the God of the Bible.
J. Warner Wallace treats the universe as a crime scene and looks for a "Divine Intruder" - (weird name to call God, right?)

Check it out and be prepared to answer questions from non-believers.

Again, Denise and I will be available for prayer.

In Christ,

  • I like the point that God gives us free will, therefore, we can choose good or evil. So, if God didn’t allow us this choice, we would be robots and real love would not exist either. Chuck Swindoll says that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. As you pointed out, God is with us in our suffering so that is a real help when things don’t go our way. But we have to trust him. Finally, I like what Dennis Prager, a Jewish man, says to people who don’t believe in God. Essentially it is that believers really do have to explain why good people suffer. But non-believers have to explain everything else.

    • Thank you Albert. That is a great quote from Dennis Prager…and yes, we DO have to explain pain and suffering. I think J. Warner Wallace does a GREAT job of coming close to the answer in his book, God’s Crime Scene. It is one of the better logical explanations I have read. Chapter 8 – The Evidence of Evil-Can God and Evil Coexist. It actually makes that point.
