We worship together outdoors AND online.
We are blessed to serve you!

December 13, 2020
Another week outdoors worshiping Christ.
This week we continued with our annual showing of The Other Wise Man, by Henry Van Dyke. But since we are outdoors the PowerPoint wasn't showing up very well, so we showed a YouTube video of the story.
It was another beautiful day to worship God outdoors (socially distanced, of course).
Our gathering in person is not very large (number of people wise), so there is PLENTY of room for you to join us next week if you are so inclined.
We prefer worshiping and praying in person, but...we get it, really. Some folks are still cautious about meeting in person. So If you would like prayer for yourself, family, etc., either place it the comments below or if you want to keep it private, send us a Facebook message and ONLY the 2 admins at Highland Park Christian Church will see the request and then share the request as an "unspoken" request for all to pray over.
We continue we continue to keep uploading the sermon and providing the YouTube versions of the songs that we sang during worship today. So even if you cannot join us, we'd still like to pray for you.
Give us a call or email Pastor Harvey at harvey.hpcc@gmail.com to request prayer.
Ongoing (as of December 13, 2020)

Here are some photos of what our outdoor worship area
looks like before the folks show up.
We hope to see YOU in one of these social distanced chairs with us soon!

This weekend we have prepared a worship page for you that includes...
Thursday Night's Bible Study PowerPoint AND the Zoom meeting recording.
The topic was "Preparing for Eternity" from Luke 16:19-31
The Children's Sunday School Lesson from Mrs. Denise...
Jesus is born! Yay!
We have great YouTube versions of Christian Hymns and contemporary songs that we sang today...
Our annual tradition of showing "The Other Wise Man" continued this week. But...we did it a little differently.
We hope this continues to bless YOU and draws you closer to God.
Remember, Denise and I are a phone call away if you want to pray together or just chat.
(Also remember that God is NOT far away, He has promised that He would never leave us - can I get an "Amen"!)
And don't forget you can comment below about anything that we can help you with or send us a Facebook message on the facebook message app.
You can also use the "comments below to start any conversation with us.
Thanks for all of your support!

the Parables of Jesus - Preparing for Eternity - Luke 16:19-31
Eternity...
What does that REALLY mean?
Can we wrap our finite brains around the concept of "forever"?
And if eternity is real for all, what is the best way to welcome that concept into our lives...today?
Luke 16:19-31 - The parable of "The Rich Man and Lazarus".
Take a peek at our Mid-Week Bible Study to see what God's Word says about that and our discussion.
We love you, and would LOVE for you to join us next week at Bible study.
Remember, if you missed our meeting, you can view it below AND please sign up below to get updates and
notices of the next meeting. See you on Zoom!
If you are NOT part of our on-line Thursday Night Bible Study, you can take care of that now.
Two easy ways to join. Each week we will send the ZOOM link via text and email.

The Visit of the Magi - Matthew 2:1-12
1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,
2 “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 And gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born.
5 They said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea; for this is what has been written [c]by [d]the prophet:
6 ‘And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah,
Are by no means least among the leaders of Judah;
For from you will come forth a Ruler
Who will shepherd My people Israel.’”
7 Then Herod secretly called for the magi and determined from them the exact [e]time the star appeared.
8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the Child; and when you have found Him, report to me, so that I too may come and worship Him.”
9 After hearing the king, they went on their way; and behold, the star, which they had seen in the east, went on ahead of them until it came to a stop over the place where the Child was to be found.
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.
11 And after they came into the house, they saw the Child with His mother Mary; and they fell down and [f]worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
12 And after being warned by God in a dream not to return to Herod, the magi left for their own country by another way.
