Job Part V - We hear the last of Job's accusers today.  Zophar tells Job he has a secret sin that he has to confess.  Job responds to all of his accusers (no longer can we call them friends), then Job asks for an audience with God.

We continue to pray that you will invite Jesus into your life and make Him Lord of your life, if you haven't already.
And if you need to take care of this please call Pastor Harvey at 323-316-7131 and he will be glad to pray with you.

After singing a few songs, then as a congregation we read together aloud the following scripture...

Psalm 19:1-14 (NASB)
God's Wonders and Word

God's Magnificence in Nature
1The heavens tell of the glory of God;
And their expanse declares the work of His hands.

2 Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech, nor are there words;
Their voice is not heard.

4 Their line has gone out into all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.
In them He has placed a tent for the sun,
5 Which is like a groom coming out of his chamber;
It rejoices like a strong person to run his course.

6 Its rising is from one end of the heavens,
And its circuit to the other end of them;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat.

God's Magnificence in His Word
7 The Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

8 The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.

10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much pure gold;
Sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.

11 Moreover, Your servant is warned by them;
In keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults.

13 Also keep Your servant back from presumptuous sins;
Let them not rule over me;
Then I will be innocent,
And I will be blameless of great wrongdoing.

14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.

Job - A Patient Sufferer - Part V
Harvey Simpson

Here is the text from the sermon.   We used many verses from Job 19-37.

Job 19:23-26 NASB
[23] "Oh that my words were written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book!

[24] "That with an iron stylus and lead They were engraved in the rock forever!

[25] "As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.

[26] "Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I shall see God;

Job 23 - Job Longs for God
Job 23:2-7 NASB

[2] "Even today my complaint is rebellion; His hand is heavy despite my groaning.

[3] "Oh that I knew where I might find Him, That I might come to His seat!

[4] "I would present my case before Him And fill my mouth with arguments.

[5] "I would learn the words which He would answer, And perceive what He would say to me.

[6] "Would He contend with me by the greatness of His power? No, surely He would pay attention to me.

[7] "There the upright would reason with Him; And I would be delivered forever from my Judge.

Job 24 - Job Says God Seems Ignore the Wrongs in the World
Job 25 - Bildad says that man doesn't measure up to God
Job 25:1-6 NASB
[1] Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,

[2] "Dominion and awe belong to Him Who establishes peace in His heights.

[3] "Is there any number to His troops? And upon whom does His light not rise?

[4] "How then can a man be just with God? Or how can he be clean who is born of woman?

[5] "If even the moon has no brightness And the stars are not pure in His sight,

[6] How much less man, that maggot, And the son of man, that worm!"

Job 26- Job Rebukes Bildad & Has Some Insight to God
Job 26:7 NASB
[7] "He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing.

Job 27-28 - Job Asserts his Righteousness and Tells of the Earths Treasures and Search for Wisdom
Job 28:23-26 KJV

[23] God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.

[24] For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;

[25] To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.

[26] When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:

Job 29-31 -
29 - Job’s Past
30 - Present state
31 - Affirms his Righteousness (again)

Job 29:1-3 NASB
[1] And Job again took up his discourse and said,

[2] "Oh that I were as in months gone by,
As in the days when God watched over me;

[3] When His lamp shone over my head,
And by His light I walked through darkness;

JOB 29- 30 -
Job tells about what a wonderful human being he is...and then he has a pity party for himself...he justifies himself and accuses God.

Job 32-34 - Elihu Speaks
Upset with Job and defends God

Job 34:10,12-15 NASB
[10] "Therefore, listen to me, you men of understanding. Far be it from God to do wickedness, And from the Almighty to do wrong.

[12] "Surely, God will not act wickedly, And the Almighty will not pervert justice.

[13] "Who gave Him authority over the earth? And who has laid on Him the whole world?

[14] "If He should determine to do so, If He should gather to Himself His spirit and His breath,

[15] All flesh would perish together, And man would return to dust.
